At present there are no statistics on the population of stray cats and dogs in the Philippine, or for that matter, the Metropolitan Manila area. But, consider this.

Assume one breeding pair of dogs, and that none of the offspring are spayed or neutered. The dogs breed once yearly, with an average of 4 puppies. Half of the offspring are female.

Assume two uncontrolled breeding cats. The cats have three litters per year, with an average of 4 kittens per litter, and a ten-year breeding life. Half of the offspring are female. None of the offspring are ever spayed or neutered.
